Our high tech in house electronics laboratory is set up for testing and repairing ECUs, Control Modules & Electronic Components.
Our focus is on BMW & Mini ECUs and we stock all the components for repairs related to most models. We also hold a stock of the more commonly needed donor units.

We can help

ECU Testing

Our ECU test bench allows us to test BMW & Mini Engine ECUs for faults.

If you've been told you need an ECU, it's worth getting a second opinion as even if you really do, we offer repair services as well.

ECU Repairs

We can often repair your ECU if there is a fault. We stock components for majority of BMW & Mini ECUs and our typical repair turnaround is within a week.

With engine ECUs we can usually provide a plug & play repair whereby you can just send us the ECU for testing & repair.

ECU Replacement

Sometimes your original unit is simply too damaged for repairs to be possible. In these instances we may be able to source a donor unit for you. The unit would then be virginised and programmed to your car.

This is often at least half the price of a brand new unit. If there aren't any donor units available we can also install and code a new unit to the car for you.

The Process

Communication

We will ask you to complete a brief questionnaire to provide some background to the fault(s) and why the ECU needs testing. This is more important than you might think, we use this as a basis for what we’re trying to identify.

ECU Testing

Either send us the ECU or arrange for us to have the car. If we have the car, additional testing will be carried out via the car's communication systems. We will bench test the unit separately in the lab and remove the casing to inspect the circuit boards. A report will be compiled by the technician which will include their recommended repair options and the estimated costings.

Estimate & Authorisation

A customer service advisor will be in touch with the results of your report and the estimate for repairs. You then need to either authorise or reject the estimate. If you cease works at this stage you will only be billed for the testing and your ECU will be put back together for collection.

Recommended Repairs

Whichever repair option is required, be it refurbishment or replacement, usually it will take a week to ten days to complete. All repairs come with a warranty, the details of which would have been on the estimate.
