Brakes & Disc Skimming

BMW, Mini and Performance Car Brake Servicing and Repair

Brake Pads
A Servicing Item

Part of the regular maintenance schedule, expect brake pads to need renewing roughly every 30k to 40k dependent on driving conditions and quality of the pads. Dragon Automotive supply and install high quality OE approved brake pads without a premium pricetag. Contact us today with your car details for a written estimate.

Brake Discs
Renewal or Skimming

Brake discs need to meet minimum thickness requirements for safety. The disc thickness often lasts for 80k to 90k dependent on driving conditions but there can be issues with warping, pitting or heat damage. We offer supply and installation of high quality OE approved brake pads without a premium pricetag. Contact us today with your car details for a written estimate. We also offer BMW approved Pro-Cut brake disc skimming.

Brake Calipers
Renewal or Rebuild

Brake calipers are generally reliable but due to constant temperature changes along with exposure to water and salt from the road surface, they can degrade with corrosion and become seized and stick on. We offer supply and installation of high quality OE approved brake calipers without a premium pricetag. Contact us today with your car details for a written estimate.
We also offer caliper rebuilding (strip down of original caliper including new seals etc).

Brake Pipes

The brake pipes that run from each axle are usually copper piping and do corrode, we offer renewal as required.

Brake Hoses

The brake hoses sometimes develop leaks. Upgrades to braided hoses are popular. We offer supply and installation.

Brake Shoes

Brake shoes often just need adjustment, but whether it's that or essential renewal, we can sort it out for you.

Handbrake Cables

Handbrake cables run from the lever to the actual braking, these sometimes need adjustment or replacement, we can help.

Brake Fluid
Test It Annually

Brake fluid is the pressurised hydraulic oil that lubricates the braking components on your car. Unfortunately, it is microscopic and will absorb water over time. This causes braking inefficiencies and addition wear and tear to the calipers from corrosion.
A 2 minute test will tell you the water content of your fluid. If it's more than 2% water it should be renewed asap. A £35 brake fluid service is a lot cheaper than a new caliper. We recommend a Free annual test at Dragon Automotive.
